SP 888, double crop type, is also imported from Thailand, registered and distributed in Myanmar. Seed purity is good and germination percentage is 90 %. Plants are vigorous growth and have a deep, strong root system. So SP 888 can moderately resistant to lodging, pest and disease infections. It produces the uniform ears and husk cover. The pith is slim. Kernel color is bright orange color. The matured corn cobs can be harvested 110 DAS in plain region and (105 – 120) DAS in mountainous area. SP 888 has good shelling percentage. Yield can be nearly 2400 kg per acre. SP 888 hybrids can be sown on the mountain and plain regions in every season.
